About this space
The space
The flat is equipped with handcrafted Swahili furniture, high-speed WiFi, Netflix ready smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms with brand new A/C units, mosquito nets, and freestanding wardrobes.
The living room in our apartment is flooded with natural light, highlighting the beauty of the hand-carved furnishings. Guests can enjoy high-speed WiFi and a Netflix-ready smart TV for relaxation after a day of sightseeing.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a meal, including a coffee maker, microwave, kettle, stove, refrigerator, and utensils. The adjacent dining room features a modern take on traditional Swahili "majlis" floor seating with plush cushions and a low-standing mahogany table.
The apartment boasts three bedrooms, each with new A/C units, fans, mosquito nets, and freestanding wardrobes. The largest room has a king-size bed and a computer desk, while the other two bedrooms have two double beds each. All rooms feature stained glass windows and highlights the 1920's heritage of the building.
The apartment has a separate toilet and shower room. The toilet has a bidet and the shower room is equipped with hot water. Most households in Mombasa use salty borehole water, but we are fortunate to have fresh tap water supplied directly from government pipelines, a rare find in Mombasa.
The rooftop terrace is one of our guests' favorite spots in the apartment. Recently renovated, it provides an outdoor living space with comfortable seating and views of the sunset over the rooftops of Mombasa. Guests can enjoy the provided ice maker and a remote-controlled CD player music system. There is also a WIFI repeater to provide high-speed internet connection.
Our apartments are situated in the heart of Old Town and are close to major tourist attractions and the Indian Ocean. Our rentals are 30 minutes from the airport and SGR terminus and 20 minutes from the famous sandy beaches.
In addition to our standard services, we are also able to offer our guests additional options such as arranging taxis, providing luggage assistance, offering complimentary tour guides, laundry service, and car rental arrangements.

The entire apartment, including the rooftop, will be yours alone, with no shared spaces with others.
Other things to note
Please note that occasional unplanned power outages may occur in Kenya and result in a temporary loss of electricity. These outages are beyond our control and are resolved by Kenya Power and Lighting.
Also, please note that as Mombasa is a cosmopolitan city surrounded by religious buildings, you may hear calls for prayers from nearby Mosques. Additionally, some traffic noise from the outside road may be heard as people go about their daily business.

Living room :
Light floods the flat, showing off the beauty of the hand-carved furnishings. With a smart TV in the living area where you can wind down with a movie after a busy day of sightseeing. Wifi ready.
Kitchen :
A kitchen of handmade counters is equipped with everything you need to whip up a meal.
Dining room:
The adjacent dining room is a modern interpretation of the traditional Swahili majlis (floor seating) experience, complete with plush and stylish cushions surrounding a low standing mahogany table.
Bedrooms :
The apartment has three bedrooms, each fitted with A/C units, fans, mosquito nets and freestanding wardrobes. The largest room has a queen-size bed (6x6ft) while the other two each have two double beds (4x6ft).
All rooms have stained glass windows, features that harken to the flat’s 1920’s heritage.
The Rooftop :
One of our guests’ favorite spots in the flat is the rooftop terrace.
Recently renovated, the rooftop offers an outdoor living space that is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. After a full day of sightseeing, relax into the comfortable chairs as you take in the spectacular Mombasa sunset setting over the rooftops.
The flat is conveniently located near everything you could ever need- grocery shops, cafes, and even an ice cream parlor.
In the evening, the area transforms into foodie heaven with street food vendors selling an exciting variety of Swahili foods and drinks.
Fort Jesus, the oceanfront, MacKinnon Market and many popular restaurants are all within a 10-minute walk.
If walking is not your thing, you can get a tuk-tuk at your doorstep.
Street parking is available. We can even secure a parking space if you let us know in advance.
A night security guard is available to watch over the car for that extra peace of mind.
We can also provide parking in a gated compound with security 3 minutes walk away. Advance notice is also required.
We have a dedicated taxi driver who can pick you up and drop you off at the airport or SGR train station upon request.
The charge is 1500 shillings paid directly to the taxi driver.
We can also arrange for a complementary tour guide of Mombasa to show you around Old Town upon request.
A complementary plate of freshly prepared Swahili Cuisine snacks can also be provided if requested in advance.

Being a cosmopolitan city with Islamic history, Mombasa Old Town is surrounded with Mosques. Expect to hear the call for prayers from the nearby mosques.
Also there will be traffic noise from the outside road as well as passers by going about their daily business.
The whole apartment will be exclusively yours including the rooftop. No sharing with anyone.
AC is now included no more paying extra for using the AC.
